College Sports Evaluation, the data and analytics arm of Triple Crown Sports, has announced that work has been completed on its softball athlete rankings for those student-athletes who have entered the Spring Transfer Portal, and NEW to 2024 – JUCO sophomore rankings.
CSE provides both ranked and unranked athletes in an easy-to-use tool in which colleges can find, search and/or sort athletes by position, division, season, year and statistics. The primary metric for overall rankings is wRAA (weighted runs above average), which is an advanced metric calculated from their offensive in-game data and is adjusted for strength of schedule. In addition, colleges are able to view historical stats of the athletes.
College coaches looking at solving roster concerns with informed decisions have found the CSE Rankings to be an efficient and effective way to target athletes who fit their program. The fee to access the CSE Transfer Portal Rankings, which also includes an annual subscription to the CSE College Coach Portal (hundreds of youth athletes along with their verified data), is $599.
“The CSE Transfer Portal Rankings saves us HOURS! This is a great starting point to trying to attack the hundreds of prospects that exist in the portal today,” said Nikki Palmer, head softball coach at the University of California-Riverside. “We are grateful to have such a powerful tool at our fingertips.”
“The transfer portal has completely changed the landscape of player selection as we know it,” said Jayden Stack, lead data analyst at CSE. “Our goal is to provide college coaches with a new perspective on the way they view those athletes. The Transfer Portal Rankings provide data-driven insights in an easily digestible format, simplifying the recruitment process for coaches and athletes of all levels.”
