FORT COLLINS, CO. – Triple Crown Sports, with a rich 42-year history of unmatched skill in event production, has announced its official merger with College Sports Evaluation, which fortifies and accelerates the data and analytics capabilities of the company as the 2024 event schedule takes shape.
From the standpoint of youth events, CSE will be on hand to gather and interpret performance data in a variety of softball, baseball and volleyball settings. The merger of TCS and CSE has also opened an opportunity for athletes of all ages in the brand new CSE Performance Lab, which opened this spring at the TCS home office in Fort Collins, CO.
The CSE Performance Lab has carved its own space as one of the nation’s best-equipped facilities to measure and assess the physical capacities of a given athlete. High-speed cameras (Edgertronics), 3D modeling with Markered and Markerless cameras (Qualysis), force plates, ball flight tracking (Trackman) and powerful data storage and delivery solutions are deployed to help younger athletes grow skills and better prepare for the college recruiting journey, while players currently on college rosters can monitor their evolution and best prepare to be more useful options as their career unfolds.
The CSE Performance Lab is part of a multi-million-dollar facilities investment at Triple Crown Sports that includes substantial improvement to the two softball fields located on the TCS campus. Those fields will be used in late June showcasing 30 of the top 14s, 16s and18s softball teams in the nation at the inaugural P5 fastpitch event. Attending teams will get access to the Lab and also receive data from the cameras located on the fields that will shed light on player performance during in-game competition. College coaches from the top D-I programs will attend, as the P5 takes its place as the nation’s premier recruiting opportunity.
The merger of TCS and CSE is just the latest example of Triple Crown’s persistent work and vision to help athletes achieve their goals in competitive sport. CSE has also broken new ground as a leader in college consulting, where programs from D-I through JUCO can use CSE-generated knowledge to help with roster formation, gameday lineup decisions, performance trends and a long list of other powerful insights that translate to on-field success.
Look for more details to come on the event locations where CSE will gather information, as well as updates on the full rollout of the CSE Performance Lab.
“Triple Crown Sports is committed to data and analytics in sport,” said Keri King, CEO of TCS. “Using machine learning, artificial intelligence, game data and individual performance metrics, Triple Crown’s merger with CSE showcases our deep investment to helping athletes and teams grow in a complex space. Our new Performance Lab is where the most serious diamond sports athletes are evaluated or rehabbed. We are so excited to onboard CSE.”
“CSE could not be prouder to join an amazing group of people in Triple Crown Sports, who are dedicated to investing in the success of our customers,” said Kelly Salberg, former CEO of CSE and current Chief Data Director of Triple Crown Sports. “The belief in optimizing data to make more informed decisions on everything from recruitment to game strategy is only going to elevate Triple Crown’s dedication to premium, must-attend events. I am so proud that we can make such a great impact in the sports we all love.”
